All information about the Egyptian Mau. Cats, shows, kittens, cattery, shops. When our cattery decided to show ourselves in the World Wide Web we were faced with the problem of choosing a web hosting that will become the castle for our site. Internet is full of information about Hosting Companies, and choosing from the thousands of them is a hard mission. Everyone knows that for choosing the best one you need to consider all possible options. Problem of choosing of a web hosting isn’t an exception from this rule.  Incidentally, I felt that it is irrational to run a professional looking website using a free web hosting company because of their numerous weaknesses. So I started my personal hosting research.

I realized that it takes a lot of time to compare web hosts to explore if the service is best for you and your site. And to choose the right one I consulted various sources. I got advices from my more experienced friends, from different answer-question public on-line services, blogs and reviews, very useful also were consults of hosting companies’ managers.

The best way to learn all about any service or product is to know what impression they made on the current users. Therefore it is necessary to take into account honest customer feedbacks.  Read more...

Egyptian Mau Cat Names and Egyptian Mau Kitten Names

Choose nema for mau catCat names and the actual selection that you choose will affect both you and your cat for your entire lifetime together. In fact, when their time with you is over, you will fondly remember them as it relates to their name that you given them. Their name becomes who they are and how you or other relates to them in several ways.

There will be various reasons chosen by an owner in selecting a name and it may be by pure intuition, tradition, or something about their personality. Or it may be some type of a physical characteristic that they might have.

But whatever method you choose in selecting your cat’s name, it should be fun, as that is the entire purpose of the name you choose that will describe them to others as well as helping you in cherishing every precious moment that you have with your cat. There will be times that may not be so precious, but that may be exactly why you named your cat what you did to start with.

If you're or will be the Mau Kitten owner, I guess you might be drawn to native Egyptian culture.  Read more...

Cat Behaviour at Shows

Mau Cat is JudgedDon't be afraid to enter your cat into a show. Many amateurs walk away with prizes since there are so many categories of awards. Besides, most people (and cats) enjoy the atmosphere of the show as a reward in itself.  Most cats learn to enjoy showing once they get used to all the steps of the process of getting ready and going to the show. Many show cats even get used to being bathed in preparation for shows. Some cats however, never do learn to tolerate going to shows and being shown. Fear is the most common problem behavior, and aggression is often fear-induced. We all hope it will never happen. But being realistic we know that occasionally it does, and a few thoughts about why it occurs, and what we can do perhaps to prevent it, might be useful. There are several reasons why cats ‘go off' at shows.

1. Fear: Cats are extremely sensitive creatures – far more than some may realise. We tend to forget how incredibly stressful showing can be for cats. Think about what happens on show day from the cat’s point of view.  Read more...

GC MedjaiCatz Khepri & BRNZ GC MedjaiCatz Tumaini

Khepri is elegant, refined and extremely graceful I see her mother in her but she has an air of royalty that is all her own she is very sensative and everything she does is deliberate she is not one to misjudge distance and land with a splat on the floor a trait her mother is famous for... Khepri is very adglie she is bulit like a cheetah much like Tumaini who unfortunaly does not have a graceful bone in his fine long elegant body. Tumaini is always a laugh a typical boy and loves to tempt gravity by throwing himself off things and landng on the unsuspecting person below his scrating post tower...  Read more...
